Headshot and resume are strongly encouraged but not required. Actors are strongly encouraged to prepare a one to two minute classical monologue, but it is also not required. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Sides will be available on the website soon. Please take some time to look over the sides, synopsis, and dramatis personae and decide what you want to read. Actors with special skills should prepare a short (one minute maximum) presentation to show them off. We are especially interested in any special skills that would blend in well at a hippie commune for the sheep-shearing scene, including but not limited to: ability to play any portable musical instrument (guitar, bongo drums, harmonica, didgeridoo etc.), dance, juggling, poi, hula hoop, yoga, hacky-sack, etc. Actors who sing may prepare a short song but it is not required and we will not have an accompanist and may or may not have a cd player, so be prepared to do it a capella if you want to sing.
Rehearsals will be at UCP on the Potomac in Lanham, MD on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:30pm to as late as 10pm with possible occasional weekends, though these will be limited. Rehearsals will begin on September 20th and go through January with performance dates TBD on Friday and Saturday evenings in mid to late January possibly running into the first weekend of February. Please be prepared to accurately list your conflicts during these times.
